Yawning is Contagious by Julian Wolkenstein

Take a look at the picture. . . . . did you yawn?

It is true that yawning is contagious as most of the people who saw this photo project of Julian Wolkenstein yawned. (I even yawned myself.) The series contains photos of different people caught in the act of opening their mouth wide. Maybe because of drowsiness, hunger or it might also be because of looking at other people yawn.

Julian Wolkenstein is a commercial photographer whose portfolio of photographic works contains bizarre, interesting and weird images. Among his photos you will find horses with glamorous hair extensions, people with toupee and his famous project, the echoism which explores the link between symmetry and beauty.

If your answer is to the question above is yes, then you have contacted the yawning syndrome. Maybe its time for you to sleep :)

Exaltation by Desiree Dolron

Desiree Dolron‘s photography project “Exaltation: Images of Religion and Death” focuses on excess of religious ceremonies by native tribes, from exaltation to even self-mutilation. The pictures are entirely eerie and disturbing to watch with all the piercing, whipping and burning of parts of the body. The believers abandon themselves to extreme acts of faith.

For this series she personally attended ritual festivals in countries such as India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Morocco and Thailand.

Creative Cinematics by Holger Pooten

Holger Pooten‘s shows off his artistic and bizarre works in his creative cinematics photography project. Each photo gives off the wonderful feeling of watching a movie in action rather than looking at a still photo. The clever use of effects enhanced the photo that it already tells a story upon itself.

His gallery mixes a advertising and personal shots to show a variety of ideas blended together. He seems to be interested of things in speed, airborne, breaking, what’s on the inside and even human body and form.

Pooten has done work for notable sports clients like Adidas and Nike.
