Tattoo Photography by Brian Cummings

Photographer Brian Cummings started photographing tattoos when one of his hair and makeup stylist asked him to take photos of tattoos all over her body. He shot her in the Rembrandt style. He liked it and decided to do a series, photographing about a dozen people over six months.

According to Cummings, photographing tattoos is a challenge. The skin is not a flat surface so there are highlights and shadows. And in the case of imperfections, the editing process should be very careful so as not to disrupt the tattoo’s sheen.

Although he’s very skilled in shooting tattoos, he himself is not inked and has no personal experience in the subject. Cummings was glad when he didn’t do it when his friends were getting them, because he would have some awful barbed wire in his arm.

On Fire by Benjamin Von Wong

Montreal-based photographer Benjamin Von Wong wanted to capture the image of a man on fire, so he did the only reasonable thing: He set a man on fire. Whoever said you shouldn’t play with fire would be thinking twice after seeing these images. According to Von Wong, “Inspire me and push me to challenge the impossible in creating unique compelling artwork.”

For this particular shoot, he spent a lot of time organizing and going into details. Von Wong didn’t know a lot how to properly set people on fire so he got some help from a friend of his who had set himself on fire before – the renowned stuntman Felix Famelart, who also became the subject for this shoot. The resulting images are amazing and shocking.

Von Wong’s motivation words: “The most important thing is to get out there and try and challenge yourself with new ideas. Push yourself and never stop trying. Be different.”

Aqua by Michael David Adams

This underwater photography by Michael David Adams is a combination of sexy models in lingerie and some with a pair of intimate models. The photos has a look and feel of high fashion and editorial. This series is the most interesting project he ever did. Because according to him, doing something that is unlike what he does in a studio or like a normal air shoot, is complicated. And the challenge is making it look and feel effortless.

He uses water often as one of the main elements of his photography. He loves the water and sea he loves being near it. Water is very zen for Adams and it is where his work revolves because it is where he is happiest and most inspired.
