A Friendship Of A Young Girl With An English Bulldog

Rebecca Leimbach has photographed the beautiful relationship between her daughter and her English Bulldog from the day she was born. After years of suffering infertility, Rebecca and her husband were finally blessed with their daughter Harper. They tried to have more children for Harper to have siblings and playmates but even IVF treatments were unsuccessful. Feeling an immense sense of guilt and sadness, Rebecca was surprised to find out that one had been living in their house in the name of Lola, their loyal English Bulldog.

“One day Harper came out of her playroom with Lola dressed as a princess and I realized, she has a playmate, the best kind in fact, one who doesn’t argue over being dressed up,” Rebecca tells My Modern Met. When asked about their friendship, she said, “They have a funny bond. Harper loves Lola immensely, except when Lola eats her toys, which happens quite often. Lola is very protective of Harper, she is always in Harper’s business. Whatever Harper is doing, Lola must investigate to make sure it’s kosher. Lola treats Harper like I think she would have treated one of her own puppies, had she not been spayed.”

Harper and Lola are seen playing on the beach and resting in the forest. It was only in the last year or so that Rebecca, a professional portrait and lifestyle photographer, started focusing on the two as playmates.

One Day, You Will Be, My Child by Malo

The project is Un jour, mon enfant tu seras or One Day You Will Be My Child by Paris-based art director and photographer Eric Maloberti, 39, imagines what the future may hold for his three-month-old daughter June when she grows up. The collection shows a rather adorable child assuming a variety of possible occupations. There is a baby chef, a baby friar, a baby military , even a baby superhero.

Though the task of thinking about your child’s future can be terrifying, this series is more fun and lighthearted than anything else. The idea of a parent looking down at their kid and seeing a potential superhero is really amusing.

And sometimes, Karneeva takes hours before she can can take that prefect shot, but the effort is worth it as the resulting images are unique and beautiful, just like every child is.

According to her, “When photographing children it is important to dive into the world of childhood, to anticipate and feel the movement of the child, understand his motivation. To be a children’s photographer – so learn to look at the world through the eyes of a child. And most importantly – do not spare the time, after a successful picture is often necessary to wait for hours”

While anyone with a digital camera can take a picture of a baby and a dog, Elena takes great pains to get the perfect shot.

Life As We Know It by Adrian Sommeling

A gifted conceptual photographer and a father, Adrian Sommeling beautifully and creatively integrates the aspects of his life into his photo concepts. His photos are imaginative and tell stories and his six year old son is the star in every image.

Dutch photographer Sommeling was inspired by seeing the world through the eyes of his 6-year-old son. “He likes to pose as a model for my creations, as long as I want to play with him after that. I’m happy he can focus for a long period of time when he has to act. Many children that are in front of the camera can only concentrate for a few minutes.”

By using unique post processing and HDR techniques, Sommeling has found a very creative style of story telling. With only a couple of years of professional photography, he sure is gaining popularity in the photography industry.
