Switcheroo: Portraits of Couples Swapping Clothes by Hana Pesut

Switcheroo is an ongoing portrait project by Canadian photographer Hana Pesut where couples are asked to swap clothing for a pair of portraits sent against an identical backdrop. The idea was born on a camping trip, when Pesut decided to photograph two of her friends who were dressed very differently: “One was wearing tie-dye, sequins, leopard print, lots of silk scarves. Everything was very bright and colorful. The other was wearing black jeans and a black T-shirt. I thought it would be fun if they switched outfits and I decided to take before and after photos”,- said Hana.

The resulting images are sometimes funny, while also having the effect of making one analyze both their views on fashion and sexual identity. It is interesting that many of the women look completely at home with male clothing, while the men often look ridiculous with dresses. One could conclude that while we have accepted many forms of stylistic expression from woman, men often have much stricter social norms to follow when it comes to fashion.

Ballet Dancer by David Wile

Photographer David Wile is famous for his photo project Pucker which features babies’ amusing reactions for tasting lemon for the first time. But he has also done other interesting photo projects for fashion, advertising, personal and even a dance series called the Ballet Dancer. These were some interesting pictures of Denis Medvedev taken during a video shoot.

Although Wile lives in Toronto, his photographic talent spans several countries. He has worked on a number of projects including global campaign and travel photography from countries like Switzerland, Peru, Argentina and New York.

Males with breast cancer? Yes, not just the females but males can also get breast cancer. Some don’t even know this because there has been few cases that’s is why Brent Stirton made this photography project to raise awareness to everyone about breast cancer. There have been reports of death among males because of this disease due to negligence and ignorance to the fact that they can also be affected with the cancer that is widely know to happen to females.

Brent Stirton not only covered male breast cancer but he also works intensively with other humanitarian issues like HIV/AIDS, poverty and conflict. He specializes in documentary work and known for his alternative approach to photojournalism.

Because of his works, he has won numerous awards and recognitions including five awards from the World Press Photo Foundation and he was cited as “Hero of Photography” in PopPhoto Magazine last 2007.
