Landscapes Formed From Human Bodies by Carl Warner

We previously posted a review of London based photographer Carl Warner‘s Foodscapes and now he’s back for more exciting and unique photo projects that will blow your mind.

As his work got famous over the photography industry and in many magazines and television ads, the artist looked for other subject matters he could use in his landscape settings and he came to the idea of using human bodies. In this series, Warner contorted human bodies, lit, and manipulated them to form expansive landscapes similar to barren deserts and mountains. He shoots all of the forms in his studio and then digitally pieced together using Photoshop.

Floral Xrays by Brendan Fitzpatrick

Brendan Fitzpatrick is a Singapore-based photographer who has twenty years of photography experience. Flowers may already be a beautiful subject for photography, but the Floral X-rays photo series takes this aesthetic to a higher level. This photo shoot revolves around x-rays of flowers, dividing them into two dimensional and transparent versions.

These colorful floral x-rays were the result of several radiology experiments in Singapore by Fitzpatrick with the use of a digital x-ray system followed by image editing and color correction in Photoshop to reach the final results you see here. He admits that there are moments when he is surprised by images he has taken that are even better than those he sought.

Digitally Manipulated Photos by MichaelO

Digitally Manipulated Photos by MichaelO

Michael Oswald used to fool around with Photoshop and 3D Max in the back of AutoCAD class and it has now developed into signature style that he describes as ‘photo manipulation on steroids’.Oswald’s artwork starts by taking up to 100 pictures until he gets a perfect shot which is then processed in Photoshop and 3D Max. He uses just a few Photoshop tools like blurring, airbrushing and smudging to paint over the top of the image in order to make it look like a painting.

Michael O, said on his website: ‘With the exception of the original digital photograph, my work is created entirely on a computer utilizing my knowledge of digital techniques and the traditional art skills I learned in my younger days. I consider the ‘concept’ to be the best part of my work so I put a lot of thought into it and I try not to hold back from expressing myself.’

World’s Best Father by Dave Engledow

Dave Engledow is World’s Best Father, well, according to his coffee mug.

Engledow is creating an unconventional scrapbook for his daughter Alice Bee, so that when she grows up, she will have a complete photographic record of herself in funny and weird situations.

The first shot he did with Alice was just a simple one where he wanted to make fun of himself – a new father, sleep deprived and kind of clueless. When his fans saw this, they wanted to see more so Engledow made it into a series. The mug in his photo that says “World’s Best Father” ultimately became his trademark in his photos. He portrays in his pictures the kind of father he doesn’t want to become – distracted, clueless and overbearing.

Engledow and Alice actually pose separately and the pictures are just Photoshopped into a final product. He manipulates the images digitally so they look more cartoonish.

This photography project started when photographer Jade Beall posted photos of her post-birth body to show the world what she went through after she gave birth to her son. And then the emails started flooding in from hundreds of mothers who also want to share their life stories about their bodies.
